- I am a retired Army Veteran and was born in Brazil,IN.My husband,who is a Desert Storm veteran and I decided in Nov 06 to do an exhibit on Indiana Women Veterans who had served from the American Revolutionary War to the present. In the early years and in some cases in WWII these women were not recognized as military, such as the WASPS or Red Cross nurses who cared for the wounded in war time.On the 25th of May, 2007, the VFW Post 6653 in Clinton, IN, sponsored a 4 day exhibit in which Margaret Ringenberg, a WWII Wasp, was our guest speaker. On Apr 30, 2007, we became incorporated as the "Indiana Women Veterans Foundation, Inc." We are a non-profit organization looking for women veterans from all services that were born or live in Indiana who have a desire to preserve their military history for family, friends and community to enjoy and learn from.
